Where Your Gift Goes

Mission San Pedro exists for one simple purpose: to provide steady, practical care to elderly indigenous Maya widows on Lake Atitlán.

No one else is helping widows in San Pedro. There is little to no formal safety net for them:

No dependable government food aid.

No reliable insurance system.

No pension or Social Security equivalent to fall back on.

Many are aging with chronic conditions such as diabetes, and daily life can become precarious quickly.

We keep this work intentionally lean.

The people involved in Mission San Pedro cover their own travel and personal expenses as a contribution to the care of the widows and a sign of personal commitment. Your contribution is used for direct mission costs—monthly nutritional support, clean-water filters, and essential help when urgent needs arise. There is no administrative expense involved in the work of MSP.

The only routine deduction occurs if you give online through a processors such as PayPal that retains their standard processing fee before the donation reaches us. If you contribute through Zeffy, our preferred way, there is no processing fee at all, however they will ask if you want to contribute to their support of non-profits.
